We are a community theatre, amateur dramatics group that produces and performs plays throughout the year. We are always looking for new members to perform and to help backstage. If this sounds like you, get in touch.
SADC, one of the longest-established community drama groups in the country, stages three productions a year March, June and November. We aim to cover the widest possible range of theatre: comedy and tragedy, classic and modern, light entertainment and challenging drama. While many of our productions include music, our range does not include standard musicals. We strive to mount productions of the highest standard and most of our actors and backstage people are very talented and experienced.
In the run up to our spring production at the end of April, and our autumn production at the end of October, the group meets on Monday evenings from with the actors rehearsing Friday evenings as well. We try to put on at least two shows a year, including a Christmas Pantomime. Over the years we have had many successful shows, and our audience seems to grow with each production. With the same professional touch, each autumn they transform a church hall into a little theatre where 'An Evening with Appeal' is staged, giving inexperienced members of the Group an opportunity to develop their art and to 'tread the boards' with more seasoned performers.
